Trond founded Mir while studying Communication Design at the Norwegian Academy of Art and Design. Besides reading a lot of books, Trond spends his time fly fishing, hiking and doing other outdoor activities.
Mir was born out of Mats’ experimentation with 3D rendering in the 90s. At that time he was studying Spatial Design at Bergen Academy of Art and Design. Mats is an avid long distance mountain runner, Italian car enthusiast and hobby mechanic.
Vegard grew up on a farm deep in the Norwegian fjords, but his love for arts lured him to the city. After he strayed away to Iceland, where he farmed sheep for a year, Vegard found his way back to Mir and is now at the very core of our team. Vegard is a film enthusiast and knows more about science fiction litterature than what is healthy.
Nick is an architect and oil painter from New Zealand. Besides doing his magic as partner at Mir, Nick is often seen running up the mountains around Bergen chasing the perfect light for his plein air paintings. Nick has studied under the famous Norwegian painter Odd Nerdrum.
After growing up on a farm, film studies led Solvår to the big city where she ended up as a booking manager handling some of the world’s biggest music artists. Now, Solvår basically runs things here at Mir, taking care of our bookings while making sure everyone behaves.
Jan-Erik is a beer-brewing foodie, with a weakness for desserts. His incredible intuition and understanding of composition and color made him partner in 2015. Jan-Erik found his way to Mir after studying Spatial Design at the Norwegian Academy of Art and Design.
We met Michail in Italy. At the time he was working with one of Europes most enigmatic architects, making some really impressive images. The rest is history, and now, if the weather is right you can find Michail soaring over the rugged fjords of western Norway in a glider.
Csabas personal art projects has made him a well known figure in the CG art community. His trademark is his deep voice, but there's more to him than meets the ear.
Richard is an architect and award winning photographer and director. His short film Consumed was nominated in the British Short Film category at the Baftas. When Rich is nowhere to be found, you can bet he is exploring some remote location on a mountain or in a fjord.
Before joining us at Mir, Torstein worked as a concept artist and book illustrator. Torstein holds the highly regarded position as reigning squash champion at Mir. His interests also include composing music and philosophy.
Besides being the by far most fit indivitual in our team, Piotr is also an avid reader and mushroom forager. Piotr is our in-house translator as he speaks English, French, Polish and Norwegian. Piotr is our go-to guy when it comes to technical solutions and has an extreme focus on detail, hence the alias P-Tec.
