Portraits of unbuilt architecture.

Our small studio is located in Bergen, Norway; the city where we grew up. Here, tucked in between mountains and fjords, far away from the hustle and bustle of the world, we try to figure out new and exciting ways to remind people that we live in a fantastic world.

The idea when we founded Mir 20 years ago was that we could make a difference for architects by making images that are noticed. Today we are even more convinced of the same principles as back then.

We believe that uniqueness is worth fighting for and that art can change things for the better.

Trond Greve Andersen & Mats Andersen
Founders

Trond and Mats founded Mir more than 20 years ago and are still best friends and studio partners. Trond is an outdoor enthusiast who loves long hikes with his dog, foraging mushrooms and berries, fly-fishing the wonderful rivers of Norway and mountain biking. Mats is an avid trail runner who knows every single trail in the seven mountains surrounding our small city. Besides the running, Mats is a skilled mechanic who builds racecars in his home workshop.

Torstein Nordstrand, *Supervisor/House philosopher*
Torstein has a background as a painter and illustrator. Besides illustrating children books, his work is perhaps best known from numerous fantastic Magic:The Gathering cards.

Francesco Giardinelli, *Senior Designer/Food guy*
Francesco is our Italian master chef, bringing quality food products that we can not find in Norway back from trips to Italy. He is also a master guitarist.

**Jakub Trčka, Senior Artist/Inventor**
Jakub first came here as an intern. His software experiments, inventive images and animations impressed us so much that we convinced him to come back to join us after his period was over.

**Dominic Maslik, Senior Artist/Chessmaster**
We found Dominic to be the perfect latest addition to our team. He has a background in Art and Architecture from the Ukrainian National Art School and then years of experience in the business in Australia and France. Dominic is a chess playing climber who likes Brazilian disco…

Piotr Truszczynski, *Senior Artist/Bodybuilder*
Piotr is fluent in Polish, English, Norwegian and French and is our in-house translator. There is no other way to put it than to say that Piotr is obsessed with working out and dieting.

Jai Hoon Ko, *Senior Artist/Complete mystery*
Jai Hoon is our Korean link and to the wonderful Asian culture and life. He is a man of few words, but his images speak for themselves.

**Riccardo Rovoletto, Senior Artist/Climber**
Riccardo found his way to Mir from Venice, Italy. His background as a rock climbing architect gives him first pick on all projects in steep terrain.

**Sander Sundal Ek, Junior Artist/Energizer**
We found Sander on Instagram, where he impressed us with inventive images full of passion for details. As the most extrovert and energetic in our team he is responsible for feeding the team with a constant stream of energy.

Solvår Sæter, *CFO/Studio Manager/Music Nerd*
Solvår came to Mir after working in TV production and as a booking manager in the music industry. Solvår is what stands between a bunch of nerds and total chaos.

Ki Jung Park, *Senior Artist/Silk Screen Print Expert*
Ki Jung was just supposed to borrow a desk in our studio to do some private work when we realized that she was a pure image-making talent. She has her background from print.
